Samjawta Rai, 21, was born in the Valley of Rice, Sikkim, and currently resides with her relatives in Bijanbari, Darjeeling. She completed her schooling at Government Tashiding Senior Secondary School, where she chose the humanities stream in her 11th and 12th grades. She is now studying English Literature at Bijanbari Degree College, Samjawta is passionate about her studies, recognizing the global importance of English and the opportunities it brings.
Her interests include cooking, traveling, meeting new people, and exchanging ideas. She is also an avid sports enthusiast, particularly in boxing, where she has earned silver and bronze medals at state-level championships. Samjawta enjoys experimenting with new ideas, particularly in recycling materials to create usable and beautiful products.
Looking ahead, Samjawta plans to pursue higher education with a master’s degree and aims to clear the National Eligibility Test (NET). She is also interested in potentially owning a tourism or organic farming business.
By joining the Trailblazer Fellowship, she hopes to develop her skills, boost her confidence, and become a positive example for her younger siblings, demonstrating that low skill and confidence should never be barriers to success.
