The Challenge:

Open dumping and burning of campus waste call for better segregation and responsible waste management.

What we did:

Conducted a waste audit and two clean-up drives at DGC; conducted two waste audits and clean-up drives at KGC. Secured and installed eight large municipal waste bins at DGC.

Results & Achievements:

Eight large bins were installed at DGC, with campus audits and clean-up activities providing information for further action.

What We Learned:

Institutional support and student ownership matter. Election-related closures, cancelled awareness sessions and academic commitments affected delivery.

Next Steps:

Work towards a Solid Waste Management Committee at DGC and renewed student environmental engagement at KGC.
